Extra Credit in History

the other day we had an extra credit opportunity in History and I jumped on it. I was in english the next day and found out we had one in there as well. I was pumped, but kinda bummed out because it was at the same time. I spoke to my english teacher and figured out what I could do. I went to the extra credit/class roll/ counted as attendance. It was a writing fair and I wasnt going to stay long but it was very cool. Lots of young writers with passion for the art. It was very cool to see al the effort that people put into there projects for other english classes. I stayed a while and then went to my history class. We watched a movie on the civil rights. Based in the late 50's to 70's or so, life was crazy. Blacks hated whites and whites hated blacks. I dont know how people did it to be honest. I mean wow!! why couldnt everybody just get along and be cool. Life is short and why wast it on hating someone else or race when is can be way more enjoyable with loving everybody. But to sum it up, I got all my extra credit in History and was very pleased.

School

School really sucks sometimes, I have enjoyed this semester but it hasnt been what I wanted it to be. I had a family death at the beginning of the semester and have been able to get on a good foot ever since. I have been slow with catching up and finally catching up and I do bad on a test. I know that everybody gets burned out of a semester of two but I know I did this semester. I can say one think, I will know when it is coming and im not going to let it get the best of me next time. Who ever reads this that is looking at my blog and you are new to college, keep your head high and stay positive, because life is short and you need to perform the best you can 24/7.

Potter Power

The Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a very good movie. The series has grown to be more violent and really different from the first one. The first one was a little more chill and friendlier for kids to watch. As the series has progressed past the 3rd one it is not as friendly to the younger audience. In evaluating these kind of movies, you have to be careful because you may endanger the way the movie really is and keep it from a certain audience, suck as younger kids. In evaluating these movies, you do also have to be honest and tell what you really think, thats why is is an evaluation or review. In the image part of a movie, the movie is very real and self spoken. The way things are at hogwarts and the detail and thought behind this series is phenomenal. I am pretty sure that this is a primary purpose of the movie and they way the director wanted it to be. Movies are made the way they want to be and critics review them they way they want to.

The Flatbread Company

This is a crazzzzzy restaurant. I have never heard of so much detail going into a pizza. I love pizza but man, this pizza company is serious. They talk about little bitty things that they put into their pizzas that I am pretty sure top rated pizza joints dont do. This is a very good evaluation on a pizza place. The detail and thought that they put into their pizza and how much you will enjoy it and taste every bite. Its kinda like Dr. Pepper, the coke of 31 ingredients. Well I think its that many but how they add that to their message just makes it more appealing to eat of drink when that much is put into it and becomes something really good.

The Triumph of Hope over Self-Interest

This is a very cool article about the way politics and money are in the U.S today. It is by far one of the most interesting things that I have read out of The Norton Field Guide to Writing. Why dont people vote their own self-interest? Politics and money are two of the dirtiest things that come through our nation today. We all have to much self pride in money and who we vote for, well most of the people. Upper, Middle and Lower classes make up the way we live today. It was cool, I was reading how we as Americans in society dont look at the three divisions or a three layered cake, but we look at it as a round table and we all have our communities. Im not saying I agree or disagree with this but it was a very interesting way to look at it. I found this a very cool piece of writing, Hope can win over everything in my book, if you stay strong and self-willing to do your best you will come out shinning.

Interview

My buddy is in the army and I was going to interview him as my person. He is a great guy and love the army and I was going to see what he has learned from the army and experiences that have changed his life from then to now. I was not able to interview him because he was in the field doing a 3 day exercise that consist of real life situations that he may be put into when in combat. I asked my other good buddy from high school which is my roommate at this time if he would like to do it. He agreed and we got underway. I asked him about journalism and sports because that is his passion and love to do both. He was injured senior year and had to have surgery as well as I did, so we have a lot in common with not being able to purse sports like we could have in college. Life takes a funny turn every now and then and can change what you did not plan on doing but it all comes out better than expected. The interview went great and he was very happy to have a copy of it after we were done.

In Defense of Dawson's Creek

Dawsons Creek seems to be a very big think in the world or reality tv. I have never seen it but have seen commercials and it dosent look very appealing to me. I like watching tv but I have never been real big on tv shows about high school kids or shows that dont really have a meaning to me. I am not being negative about it or putting them down but they just dont seem to have much of a moral. Dawsons Creek is probably a good show to some people that dont get out much and do things, that is just my opinion. From what a read there seems to be a lot of drama and love/romance going on in this tv show, which does not happen to much in high school days. There is your typical drama and he broke up with him or her, but not enough to get a tv show started if you ask me.
