Johnny Depp: Unlikely Superstar
The story on Johnny Depp was really long and seemed to tell about the movie, Pirates of the Caribbean. As I read more I seemed to see what just about everybody goes through in life and how they over come it and get past that wall. I liked how he said that we all poison our selves in life, some way and some how. If you want something in life you have to work for it and reach out and get it. Its like sports, if you want to win the championship, you have to work harder and be better than they are. There is another way that I look upon that, if you want to be better than everybody you have to work, but you also have to stay humble and be true to yourself and others along the path to victory and success. Having kids seemed to be a very great thing for Depp. He was always thinking of himself and hardly ever others by what he says. But when he had his daughter and son it changed him dramatically and being selfish was no more for him. I am not an expressive person, but I like his look on life. "None of this makes sense to me, but then, why should it?"
Cookie Master
The story of the Cookie Master and Donald Lau's strive to come up with fortunes is very cool. I liked how he wanted to have good fortunes in the fortune cookies that he sent to all the restaurants all over the world. Writing was something that came natural and easy for him at the beginning, but as he got older it wore off. I was very interested in that and how it just becomes an unnatural thing in older years. A writers block has to be very frustrating for someone who has wrote for many years. I would say that a fortune writer would lose his easier than a novelist or a poet. Very cool how he is handing it down to a younger person who can bring back some old fortunes or new and creative thoughts for people who believe and live on fortunes.
Genres - "Shirley Barnes"
The Shirley Barnes obsession about Nash Metropolitans is kinda weird, but I understand where she is coming from. I love classic muscle cars and trucks, so its a car thing I guess. It was kinda weird reading it with all the genres put into the sentences. For example, "She was a professional dancer-tap, ballet, acrobatic- but became......" It is very descriptive, but also to descriptive for me. I understand the meaning or things, but it is nice to have extra examples to fill the mind with detail and thought of what is being said.

Gator Hunting In Georgia
I went to Georgia my senoir year of high school to meet the worlds best trapper of beaver, otters and mink. My dad knows him from a friend and his name is Kurk Decalb. He asked us to come down and stay with him for a couple of days to check traps and go gator hunting. It was an amazing experience and I will never forget it. We woke up early to go check traps. He covers 4 countys through out Georgia where he traps and the county pays him. He catches close to 2800 to 2000 beaver a year and 1500 or so ottors and mink. The gator hunting came at night time and was a ruch like no other. A very scary thing but quite amazing and fun!!!!!!!!!!
Fishing in Canada
The summer of 2002, I got to go on a trip of a life time. I was invited by my dad and two of his buddies to go fishing for two weeks on a excluded island. It was on Lake Kishkatina about 100 miles from the Michigan/Canada border. We flew in on a float plane and the flight was about 20 minutes. We landed on the water and the cabin was about about 20x20 foot big. Very small but it was perfect. Two bunk beds and a table to eat at. We had no running water and no electricity. We would run a generator in the evening for about 2 hours, eat and play cards. We took our baths in the lake and fished everyday for two weeks. It was the greatest trips I have ever taken and looking forward to the trip of a life time one day in the future.
Mick Jagger Wants Me
I have read and finished the story of "Mick Jagger Wants Me". It was a very funny story, and how they expressed that making out was the greatest thing in the world. How life was all about rock and roll, drugs and sex. I was laughing when Susie described Keith Richards body and how he wore his clothes and they were tight. It was funny when they basically got denied by trying to get into the limo. I did not understand the whole story but i know it was about two girls who were in love with Mick Jagger and wanted to see the Stones.

Us and Them by David Sedaris
The story "Us and Them" was very weird to me. I understood the story but did not understand the meaning of it. It was perfectly fine that the Tomkeys did not have a TV but weird that they dont because pretty much everybody in the U.S does have one. It was kinda funny to me that the little boy keep eating all the chocolate, but it was bad for him and gave him head aches. The mom seemed kinda dumb because she keep asking what kind of trailer that the boat was on. This was my thoughts on "Us and Them".
